Doing business in Ukraine – webinar for foreign investors
On 1 February 2022, DLF team presented at a webinar on the legal aspects of doing business in Ukraine. The event was organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Kuwait with the support of the Embassy of Kuwait in Ukraine and Kuwait Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The event started with opening remarks by H.E. Dr. Oleksandr Balanutsa, Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Kuwait and H.E. Dr. Rashid Al-Adwani, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Ukraine, to be followed by the DLF presentation.
During the next section, Iurii Dynys, Counsel at DLF Ukraine, provided the audience with an overview of the company registration procedure in Ukraine; the Ukrainian taxation system, including the key taxes and duties; simplified tax system for legal entities; and personal income tax.

Iurii also spoke about the procedures, requirements, and advantages of obtaining a permanent or temporary residence permit in Ukraine. The final topics covered in the presentation was purchasing real estate in Ukraine, in particular investment options, ways of using the real estate objects acquired, and applicable taxes.
Event participants were able to post their questions in the chat and the questions were subsequently answered during the Q&A section of the webinar by Igor Dykunskyy, managing partner at DLF. This resulted in a very lively discussion on a variety of topics, from obtaining a permanent residence permit via investment to entering the Ukrainian market; from choosing property in Ukraine to launching a real estate development business; from establishing a company in Ukraine to performing legal due diligence of target companies. The participants expressed interest in Ukrainian agriculture; oil and gas extraction; fintech and blockchain; healthcare; environment services and more.
